A Ross-on-Wye based business, Made in Ross, was commended at this year’s Visit Herefordshire Awards for Excellence.
The art gallery in the Market House was up for the ‘Best Visitor Attraction’ award.
Although Westons Cider in Ledbury won the award, the Made in Ross artists were thrilled to be commended.
Eleanor Kercher, the group’s Chair, and Chris Champness, the Secretary, attended the ceremony at Eastnor Castle.
Chris told the Ross Gazette:?“This was the first time we’d ever done anything like that.”
The art gallery was opened on May 3rd last year, and ever since, Made in Ross has gone from strength to strength.
Chris added that she hoped that Made in Ross would be nominated for the award next year.
The Awards, which celebrate the county’s tourism businesses, were held on Tuesday, September 20th, at Eastnor Castle.
They marked Herefordshire’s first dedicated Awards ceremony, which aims to celebrate the county’s brilliant and unique tourism businesses. Held in partnership with the Visit Worcestershire Awards, 108 entries were received in total including 55 from Herefordshire.
