A reader has contacted the Gazette, after reading an earlier report on the decline of hedgehogs.

Clive Harris has written a guide to looking after hedgehogs, after nursing one back to health last summer.

He told the Ross Gazette: “Hopefully it generates a bit of awareness, and teaches people how to help if they stumble into your garden!

“Hedgehog numbers have plummeted by a third since 2000, so we need to help spread the word about protecting these little guys.”
