Ross-on-Wye’s local Oxfam store is on the search for volunteers in and around the Ross area.

The store promises a wide variety of jobs and sections for all of its volunteers that include operating the till, window dressing, and even the chance to become an expert in the many books and antiques the store has to offer.

Manager Carol Jones told the Ross Gazette that the store’s aim is to get everyone involved, whilst also making a difference, not only in the local community, but across the world. Carol also said volunteering demonstrates a good work ethic and looks particulary valuable on your CV.

Local volunteers, Viv Nutt and Anna Lampart, both thoroughly enjoy their time at Oxfam, and find it extremely rewarding. Viv, who has been working at the store for just over six years, said she finds working at the store worthwhile and good for the brain. Anna, who has just completed her final year at University, has been working at the store for just over two weeks, and said she enjoys working in such a friendly environment.

The store welcomes volunteers of all ages who can give any length of time to help such a well-known cause. Whether it be for a week, or a few months,?Carol said:?“any time people can give is hugely appreciated.”

She said that the Broad Street store had recently lost several of its long serving volunteers and they really do need replacements to keep the shop open and bring in funds. Call into the shop when it is open and speak to Carol if you can offer some time to help.
