Nearly 100 people attended a recent reunion event which celebrated 10 years since students left the John Kyrle High School.
The event was organised and arranged by Harriet Smith, Duncan Alston and their team. It was incredibly well supported and was enjoyed by all.
However it was also tinged with sadness as they remembered a great friend, Leeanne Davies, who died not long after leaving school.
Leeanne’s mother, Jackie Davies was able to attend and the evening raised around £1,000 for the Michael Cullen Cancer Research Charity in memory of Leeanne.
Harriet told the Ross Gazette:?“It was a great event, I was so pleased so many came along and supported it, or wrote to us with their support.
“Leeanne was such a lovely person, and great friend who very sadly passed away.”
Mr Paul Deneen, a former teacher, was one of the guests and was former Head of Year of the 04/06 year group. He said, “I was so pleased that Jackie was able to be with us on the evening and that we were all able to remember Leeanne, who was a wonderful student."
The team which organised the evening are very grateful to the Royal Hotel for its support and all the shops and businesses who had sponsored the charity fund raising event and the raffle prizes for the big draw.
