AN elderly woman was airlifted to hospital last Wednesday, June 26th, after a collision between two cars on the A40 near the Glewstone turning.The woman, in her eighties, was driving a blue Honda which was in collision with a Vauxhall. The road was closed just before 3pm, in both directions, as emergency services attended the scene.
Fire crews cut the woman from the vehicle before she was flown to Gloucester Royal Hospital, via the Midlands Air Ambulance based at Strensham, with serious head and leg lacerations. There were no reports of any serious injuries sustained by the other driver.
The road was closed causing tailbacks from Monmouth to Ross in both directions.
