The M5 near Quedgeley, Gloucestershire is currently closed following a fatal collision involving two vehicles this morning, Thursday, January 2nd.
Gloucestershire Police, air ambulance and other emergency services rushed to the scene, between J12 Gloucester and J11a Cirencester, after the cars collided at about 8.10am Thursday morning.
One person has died and another injured following the collision on the M5 near Quedgeley this morning. The M5 was closed following the crash and is expected to remain shut until about 5pm today.
A police spokesman said one person was declared dead at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle suffered non-serious injuries and is being checked over at hospital.
Diversions are in place while the M5 northbound remains shut.
Heavy congestion remains in the area, with delays of about 30 minutes.
