MADAM, I left John Kyrle High School a few years ago but I will always be grateful to some of the excellent teachers who taught me. I noticed in your paper this week, a letter naming some of those teachers who have now retired and I am sorry I did not have the opportunity to contribute to their leaving present and wish them well in their retirement.

Why wasn't there an article in the Ross Gazette? After all, some of them have been at the school for over 30 years and they deserved a word of thanks surely?

I understand Mrs Joyce Thomas who has been a governor for so many years has resigned. She too deserves great credit for all the years of commitment, loyalty and endless hours of voluntary work she has put into the school. It was her I looked to for a reference, not once but several times and thanks to her I have a good future ahead of me.

To all those mentioned above and on behalf of so many past students and parents, I would like to thank them very much for what they have done for me and countless others.

Editor's Note: The Ross Gazette has spoken to Headteacher Nigel Griffiths and understands there will be an acknowledgement of the legacy the retiring teachers and committee members leave behind at JKHS as the new in-take, of students and new staff arrive.
