Acorns in Ross-on-Wye held a party in-store on Saturday, April 14th, to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

There was a storm trooper, a tombola, a silent auction, and a special anniversary cake made by K and K Cakes, of Coleford - a new business recently set up in the Forest of Dean.

Manager Lisa Bradford said: “It’s the first time we’ve tried a silent auction at the shop but we had 20 or more bids on the items.

“We raised £50 on a rocking horse and £80 on the Brunswick guitar.

“It was a great day and luckily the weather was on our side. The Stormtrooper was lots of fun and the cake was lovely!

“It’s our charity’s 30th anniversary this year and we just wanted to say thank you to the people of Ross and the surrounding areas for your continuing support of our Hospices.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now
