President Philip Dazeley presented the 2018/2019 ROSCAR acting awards to members of the Ross-on-Wye based X-entricity Youth Theatre Group at the meeting of Ross Rotary Club at the Chase Hotel on Monday, December 3rd.
These ROSCAR awards were judged on the October 2018 performance of “Guys & Dolls” and were presented to:
Best Actor: Matthew Lawrence (Sky Masterson)
Best Actress: Chloe Darrell (Miss Adelaide)
Best Support Actor: Sam Morrish (Nicely Nicely Johnson)
Best Support Actress: Becky Maggs-Pigott (Swing)
All the ROSCAR winners were equally delighted with their awards and they individually explained what being part of X-entricity has meant to them, irrespective of whether they have long term ambitions in the performance arts or not.
X-entricity Producer, Jane Hewson and Musical Director, Steve Liddle also attended the ROSCAR presentation and talked about the role of X-entricity in the community and the practicalities of staging their major performances, the next of these being West Side Story. They also thanked Ross Rotary Club for all their support through the ROSCAR awards, the donations they have given and attendance at their performances.
