The Ross Action Committee held its Annual Meeting at the Chase Hotel on Tuesday, December 9th.

Christmas is the time for giving and the committee is appealing for some urgent donations of cash to keep the very valuable Action Bus on the road during 2009. Last year there were various repairs to the bus that were quite costly and as a consequnce the committee is rather low in funds.

The bus ferries the elderly and disabled on shopping trips, hospital appointmens, and outings for pleasure. Without it, many people would be unable to enjoy the sort of freedom that most of us just take for granted.

The Committee Chairman, Rosemary Rigby, praised the volunteers who work on the bus. She said: "The drivers and those who help people on and off the bus provide a wonderful support to the elderly and disabled in the Ross area. A Christmas donation would do so much to keep the Action Bus running. We would also welcome more volunteers, drivers and helpers."

Miss Rigby can be contacted on 01981 540477 and donations may be sent to her at Cartref House, Wormelow, Herefordshire, HR2 8HN.
