A drug and alcohol treatment charity, Addaction, have confirmed that they will not be opening a centre in the Old Chapel in Ross-on-Wye.
A spokesperson for Addaction told the Ross Gazette: “Addaction has made the decision not to provide drug and alcohol services from the Old Chapel in Ross-on-Wye; after further inspection of the premises it would not be suitable or viable for Addaction to provide all elements of service delivery from the premises. Addaction is currently exploring opportunities to work in collaboration with local partners in Ross, and interim provision continues to be provided in Ross from the Larruperz Centre.”
The Ross Gazette reported that Addaction would not be opening the drug and alcohol treatment centre in the Old Chapel on Wednesday, June 22nd. A local artist, Mary Deaville, who had initially wanted to use the building as a centre for creativity, contacted the Gazette to say that she had been given an opportunity to rent the Old Chapel once more.
More information about how Addaction and how they provide support individuals, families and communities in Herefordshire is available on their website: www.addaction.org.uk.
