Madam, In response to Mr Lockley's letter of last week I wanted to thank him for his kind words and answer his question.
The Rosswyn Hotel, like many other sites in town, was identified in my original piece of work with the planning enforcement officers as a high priority. That property, along with many others, has received letters from the enforcement team and without a positive response from landlords the next stages are lengthy legal processes, and this is what I am working on for many properties.
The decision to serve notices by the enforcement team on the residential property at Overross Farm is quite separate to my work in the town centre.
,br>As a County Councillor I am elected to represent the residents of my ward and whilst the property adjoining Mrs Badhams may not be viewed by tourists, it has been empty for over 30 years and has caused much damp in her property. This means that Mrs Badham needed some help and I, amongst others, helped her as well as focusing on town centre eye sore properties, in tandem, not in place of.
I work on many projects at the same time and am happy to update your readers on any at any time.
Thanks again to Mr Lockley, I know he cares about this town and has raised many issues with the Town Council regarding the future prosperity of our town.Cllr Andrew Atkinson, Ross-on-Wye East Ward
