MADAM, We live in Cawdor where the fire which featured in last week's Ross Gazette took place. We were away on holiday when the fire happened, and we saw the article in the Gazette when we came home yesterday. This is what our garden looks like now. Approx 56 metres of boundry hedge has been completely destroyed, and plenty more has been singed, and that's to say nothing of the loss of bbqs, gazebos, a trampoline and a shed full of stuff which, we understand, exploded.

We are just grateful that neither us or our children were here to witness it.

We would also like to pass on our thanks to the firemen who attended the scene. We gather that ten minutes more and the fire would have taken our home too. We cannot thank them enough.

Rachael and Dave Daniel, Ross

PS We wondered whether any of your readers had any photos of the blaze itself. If so, we would be very grateful if you could forward them to us.
