Some members of Aston Ingham WI recently visited the Gelato shop, Green & Jenks, at Monmouth. Gilly Pollock, one of the owners, gave the group the history of the business. The company, which started as a dairy in Cardiff, has been in the family for 130 years - six generations.

The group saw the Gelato made, it has less than half the fat of ice -cream and there are many varieties.

They were given some samples to taste which they all agreed were very good. Afternoon tea is also served on the premises and the ladies enjoyed theirs very much. See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
