Three months ago Leonards, the cocktail and tapas lounge opened in High Street, Ross and although some may have doubted whether Ross-on-Wye was ready for such a venture, they have been proved wrong. The numbers of guests dining, or just meeting friends for an expertly created cocktail, has far exceeded expectations.

Everyone is familiar with an English afternoon tea, and they have surged in popularity in recent years, perhaps because they offer an alternative to a traditional lunch or evening meal.

However, Leonards Tapas Afternoon Tea, served on special three-tiered serving platters, offers something very different. The Afternoon Tea includes nibbles, such as nuts, mixed olives and hummus on the first level. Then the savoury platter includes ham hock croquetas, goats cheese pate and smoked salmon crostini. The sweet platter has a mediterranean influence and includes churros and mini sherry trifles. This is all accompanied by a selection of locally ground, James Gourmet Coffees or artisan organic teas. For those who are celebrating or want to make more of an occasion then you can add a freshly prepared martini cocktail to your afternoon tea.

During this month there is an amazing special offer of Tapas Afternoon Tea for Two at only £19.95, with the voucher which is in the Ross Gazette this week.
