After two easy rides on the Wye Valley course between Walford and Lydbrook the Ross-on-Wye and District Cycling Club's evening 10 mile time trial race moved to the lumpier A449 Ledbury road course which starts and finishes at the top of the Coldborough Park HilI.
Being Hereford Mayfair week the evening was dull and damp but with little wind to help or hinder so for the riders it was all their own effort.
Regaining his previous form Alan Cook took the win just scraping inside 24 minutes by one second whilst Will Bevan's 25.16 pushed Paul Fallon into third place by 20 seconds. Robin Hill made it into the 26 minute sector by just one second then came Paul Stephens, 27.02, Sam Walker, 27.16, Alan Taylor, 27.25, James Wilson, 29.04, Clive Newey, 29.04, Pete Mumford, 30.27, Robin Fletcher, 31.04, Tony Price, 32.26, Mike Druce, 32.54 and Gerald Brain took on the role of 'sweeper up' with a time of 36 ninutes and 37 seconds.
As usual there were a number of visitors, the fastest of which was Andrew Jones of the Royal Dean Forest Cycling Club with a time of 24 minutes and 20 seconds.
Next week is a return to Walford, which should please the 'flat earthists'.
