MADAM, What an absurd letter from Mike Barnard suggesting that the views of those who are not true Ross people should be ignored. Do fifth generation locals like him pay higher taxes than incomers?
My own 20th century ancestors all travelled hundreds of miles in search of work as did my husband and I.
Where exactly should we return in order to find a place where our views would be considered valid? Italy, the Western isles, Ireland...I could go on and I am not alone.
I've no desire to impose my views on anyone but I do get angry when it is suggested they shouldn't count at all because my forefathers are not buried here.
