THE WYE Valley Netball League season came to an end last week, when two Ross teams played each other in the final match. Allsorts needed to secure a strong win against Springboks to maintain their challenge for one of the top three positions in the League.

Springboks started strongly with strong and accurate passing in mid court and wing defence Rosie Lindly intercepted several passes to lead the attack and enable her goal shooter, Abbey Ward, to have some fine shots at goal.

However, Allsorts became stronger the longer the match went on and goal keeper, Ellie, and goal defence, Claire Godwin, soon took control of the circle, sending the ball back up court.

Wing attack, Karen Walsh, made some dynamic leaps to intercept long passes and turned the ball back to the shooters, Dawn Bedney and Anne James, who accurately scored to help their team win by 35 to 11.

Allsorts wing attack, Karen Walsh, was named Player of the Match by the umpires.
