MADAM, I am ashamed to say that having lived in Ross for 13 years and I have never been to the Phoenix Theatre. My husband and I decided to go for our anniversary, only to find that that evening it was showing 'Red' as part of the film festival.
It was fantastic! A drink in the bar area before the film, a welcome from friendly, helpful staff and into the 'cosy' auditorium for a surprising roller-coaster ride of sound effects that made me feel like I was in the movie and about to fall off my seat.
If you haven't been yet, I thoroughly recommend it. I went again on Wednesday afternoon to see 'Home', which made me cry.
Congratulations for showing a diverse range of films which had something for everyone. I will now be a regular at the Phoenix and look forward to seeing my first play.
To the people of Ross - 'use it or lose it' comes to mind. Both screenings I attended were only half full. Ross has needed and wanted a cinema for a long time. Now we have one, please give it your support. You won't be disappointed!
Elaine Chatwin, Ross
Editor's note: The next Screen at the Phoenix is 'The Eagle' on August 14th
