Madam, What an amazing moving story in the Ross Gazette about Jim Jenkins and Whiskey the dog who survived the horrors of war.
Jim, who was serving in the Army and stationed in Greece found the little dog starving, and gave him a bath. After this the dog would not leave him, Jim and the dog went on to Crete, Alexandra, Iraq, Syria and Italy.
Then on to the battle of El Alamein and after the Normandy landings at Sword Beach. I can understand Jim being heart-broken not being able to bring the dog back to England. A remarkable true story.
