The Prince of Wales will celebrate his 70th birthday on November 14th, 2018, and as a way to mark this an avenue of trees has been planted on the Duchy of Cornwall estate in Herefordshire.

The trees are located in a prominent position along the A49, just north of Ross-on-Wye, between Peterstow and Bridstow, on land farmed by Duchy tenants.

All the work has been carried out by the estate woods team, led by Geraint Richards, Head Forester.

Mr Richards told the Ross Gazette: “There seems no better way for the Duchy of Cornwall to commemorate His Royal Highness The Duke of Cornwall’s 70th birthday in 2018 than by planting avenues of trees at high profile sites on Duchy land.

“We are delighted by the final look of the ‘The Duke of Cornwall’s Avenue’ and we have already received positive feedback from local people. We hope that the avenue will bring much happiness to passers by as the trees mature and the colours change from season to season.” See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
