Whitchurch and Ganarew Memorial Hall will be having an evening of ‘Silent Movies’ on Friday 25th May, 7.30pm.

Jeff Barnhart, who is an accomplished pianist, entertainer and silent movie enthusiast will be the host for the evening and will be providing background information to each film and musical accompaniment, interspersed with a few jazz-age vocals of songs themed around silent films.

The two hour programme includes The Bellboy – 1917 Fatty Arbuckle, The Goat – 1921 Buster Keaton, A Night in the Show – 1915 Charlie Chaplin and The Playhouse – 1921 Buster Keaton. These are all rollicking films with more than enough laughs and suspense to satisfy everyone, an excellent evening’s entertainment is anticipated.

Tickets are £10 (under 16’s £4) and are available on 01600 890640 or 890943, and tickets will also available on the Memorial Hall’s doors from 7pm on the evening. This event is able to take place due to the generous support of Arts Alive/Flicks in the Sticks, to which the Whitchurch and Ganarew Memorial Hall is extremely grateful.
