Signs have gone up along the river bank in Ross-on-Wye saying that fishing has had to be cancelled for now due to the weather.

Ross-on-Wye Angling Club told the Ross Gazette that they have taken the decision, due to high temperatures and low water levels, to stop all angling on their sections of the River Wye, including the day ticket section in the town. This came into effect on Monday, July 23rd.

The club said: “The welfare and conservation of the fish are our prime concern and the ban will be lifted as soon as conditions allow. Suitable signage will be erected informing anglers and we shall also be informing local tackle shops of our decision.”
