The 12th annual Nail Day, held in memory of Matt Beddard, who lost his fight with cancer in February 2005, was held at Ross Health & Fitness on June 15th.

As per previous years, it was a massive success with £775 being raised on the day for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Over 40 ladies went home with beautifully painted fingers and toes decorated with lots of pretty nail art.

A raffle was held and everyone enjoyed tea and homemade cakes. Mel Beddard thanked everyone who supported the event, especially Caroline Ward from Ross Health and Fitness who works hard every year to organise this event which is thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who comes.

The organisers told the Ross Gazette that they also want to give a huge thanks to Anne Hennesey, Fiona Haynes. Yvonne Button, Julie Sleeman, Tracey and Holly Smith, Emily Lerego, Jane Griffiths and Jess White who all painted nails beautifully, and to Liz Collins and Emma Matchette who did a fantastic job serving cold drinks, teas and coffees, cake and selling raffle tickets.

The Beddard’s would like to thank everyone who donated raffle prizes, made cakes and turned up on the special day, and for their continued love and support since they lost Matthew it means the world to them.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
