Police are appealing for information after two men were assaulted in Ross-on-Wye on Saturday, 26 January.
The men were walking along Brookend Street just after 2am following a night out in the town, when they were set upon by a group of men.
Both victims received a number of facial injuries in the assault which required hospital treatment.
Detective Constable Matt Ansfield from Hereford CID is investigating the assault. He said: "Shortly before the men were attacked, they had been involved in a minor altercation with a group of men in the King Charles II pub on Broad Street.
"Although the two parties resolved their differences, we are looking into whether this dispute may be linked to the assault which followed.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the pub in the early hours of Saturday morning and witnessed the altercation, to contact us.
"This assault happened very quickly and we have limited details about the group who attacked the two men, other than they are believed to be ten in number and that the main offender is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall and has very short, shaved hair. He was wearing a brown jumper and jeans and is believed to have run off towards the swimming pool.
"I would urge anyone who saw what happened and can offer us any further details, to get in touch."
Anyone with information about this incident can call Det Con Ansfield on 0300 333 3000, quoting 19N 260113, or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
