A local woman is appealing for witnesses to come forward after her dog was attacked in Chase Woods, Ross-on-Wye, on Sunday, December 4th at around 12.30pm.

She claims that her and her family were walking their dog in the area, when it was attacked by another dog, that was not on a lead.

The woman posted on the Ross-on-Wye Notice Board on Facebook, asking if anyone had witnessed the incident take place. She believes that the attacking dog was a staffy cross-breed. She added that it was black, and the couple walking it had two other dogs with them, which she believes were black labradors.

She said that her dog’s neck was bitten in the attack, and it also sustained a bite mark to the eye.

She said the animal “then ran at my two-year-old son and my partner jumped in the way, then the owners called it back.”

She said that when her partner challenged the owners, they said they weren’t going to get in to an argument, and walked away.
