What does Christmas in Ross mean to you? Is it a visit to see the Christmas lights and the trees in the town centre, taking part in the Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s Church, the Christmas Carnival or visiting the Christmas Fayre?
This year the Christmas Fayre takes place on Sunday, November 19th, from 11am-5pm. A special competition has been organised and the winner will turn on Ross Christmas Lights from the balcony of the Market House, alongide the Mayor, Councillor Nigel Gibbs.
The competition, which is being run inconjunction with the Ross Gazette, is for a piece of art work, which can be in any medium, including a photograph to show what ‘Ross at Christmas’ means to you.
Three local shops have also donated prizes. There will be three categories so that the competition is open to all.
The categories are as follows; Under eight years - Tudor Sweets have donated a prize, between eight and 15 years - Rossiters have donated a £10 Book Voucher, and for those 16 years and above Caffé Eleganza have donated a voucher.
Designs must be submitted on an A4 sized piece of paper, they can be any form of art work including photos, collage, drawing, painting, sketch, illustration or anything you feel represents Ross at Christmas in an artistic way.
All entries must be A4 sized with your name, age and daytime telephone number, on the reverse. The competition is open from November 1st until 12pm on Monday, November 13th, when a judging panel will choose the winners.
There can be only one entry per person. Entries have to be handed in at the Ross Gazette office in Broad Street.
Winners must agree to take part in relevant publicity.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 15th in the Ross Gazette.
