Plans to build new housing in the centre of Lea have been backed by the village's Parish Council.
Chairman, Patrick Keef, used his casting vote to give qualified support to an application for outline planning permission to build 39 dwellings on land between Mill Lane and the petrol station on the A40.
Residents who attended the extraordinary general meeting at Lea Village Hall, last Tuesday, expressed concerns that the proposal would worsen the risk of flooding and Mill Lane's suitability to take more traffic.
