Madam, During the current financial crisis everyone I know is looking to make practical savings especially when it costs so much to heat and light our homes following the recent fuel price hikes.

At this time of great economic uncertainty I am supporting Energy Saving Week (20th to 26th October) to help show how significant savings can be made in money, energy and time and to inform people how they can help protect our environment and reduce their carbon footprint.

Climate change is not just a government problem but affects all of us. By switching to energy saving lightbulbs, not overfilling the kettle for a cup of tea and even consciously driving more economically when we have to take the car we can make savings right now in our pocket and for our future of our planet.  These two objectives are not incompatible and both are vitally important for our current and future generations.
