The Met Office have issued a yellow warning of severe weather, for several areas of the UK. Herefordshire is one of these areas affected, which means local residents should be aware that snow and ice is possible in the county.

Showers will become frequent on Thursday evening and heavy at times, increasingly turning to snow on high ground and inland, with a longer spell of sleet and snow moving southeastwards across parts of the West Midlands overnight. Snow accumulations of 1-4 cm are possible. Ice is also likely to form on untreated surfaces.

Please be aware of the likelihood that there may be some travel disruption and difficult driving conditions.

This yellow weather warning is in place from 6pm tonight (Thursday, January 14th) until tomorrow morning at 11am.
