Late on Sunday, June 29th someone armed with an air rifle shot a much loved pet cat in Wilton and left him in the bushes behind the Old Post Office to die. He was found by a dog walker the following afternoon and was immediately taken to the vet. As a result of the two lead pellets that had been fired at him, the back half of the cat was paralysed.

His owners told the Ross Gazette that Fizzy was a lovely three-year old cat, full of mischief and very adventurous, but at the same time extremely affectionate and gentle. Because of this mindless act of cruelty he spent nearly two weeks at Archenfield Veterinary Surgery, where the staff worked hard to help him recover.
