At the Ross Town Council meeting on Monday, June 11th, Councillor Phil Cutter presented the new Mayor of Ross, Harry Bramer, with a memorable gift brought back from Betzdorf, Germany.
This year for the annual get-together of the Ross and Betzdorf Twinning Associations, it was the turn of the Ross Association to visit Betzdorf, which lies in the Westerwald Region of Germany just east and south of Cologne.
The Ross visitors were given a warm welcome and superb reception by the Burgermeister, Herr Bernd Brato on behalf of the Betzdorf Town Council.
Representing the Mayor of Ross was Councillor Phil Cutter, who responded to the welcome with greetings from Ross Town Council and the Leader of Herefordshire Council.
Herr Brato presented Councillor Cutter with a framed artwork which incorporates the names of prominent “Twinners” from Ross and Betzdorf, involved since the beginning the two town’s twinning relationship.
The word graphic had been put together in the shape of Betzdorf’s administrative region, and in return, Councillor Cutter presented the Burgermeister with a bottle of Herefordshire Vodka.
Councillor Cutter brought the artwork back home and presented it to Mayor Harry Bramer at the Ross Town Council meeting, who received it gratefully.
The artwork will be displayed by the Ross Town Council, likely in their offices.
