ONE man suffered a broken leg and
another a dislocated shoulder during
a fight outside the King Charles II
public house in Broad Street, Ross.
At around 2am on Sunday, February
15th an altercation broke out
inside the pub and two men were
removed, but the disorder escalated
outside, with several people fighting.
Local residents told the Ross
Gazette that the incident began on the
dance floor and may have been
sparked by the televised rugby
matches from earlier on Saturday.
When police arrived at the scene,
there were estimated to be some 60 or
so people milling around in the street
outside the pub. During the fracas, it
appears that one male has suffered a
broken leg and another a dislocated
shoulder.
Both injured men were treated at
hospital. The man with the broken
leg is still detained there.
Police are still trying to establish
the exact cause of the fight and events
around the incident.
They are closely studying footage
from CCTV cameras in the town.
Detectives are anxious to speak with
anyone who was at or outside the pub
at the time, who witnessed what happened
or who may have other information
to give.
Anyone with information should
contact DC Paul Matthews at Ross
CID on 0300 333 3000 or call the free
