The picnic in celebration of Violette Szabo's 90th birthday had more than a few surprises in store. The annual memorial gathering honours the memory of the Second World War British Agent who was executed by the Germans after she was parachuted into France.
Each year Rosemary Rigby opens the garden of her home at Wormelow, which also contains the official Violette Szabo Museum, to allow veterans and those who are grateful for Violette's sacrifice to pay their respects. Read the full story in this week's Gazette.
