ROSS 1st XI tasted defeat in their opening day fixture in The Davis Wood Hockey League Severn Division versus Lansdown.
Ross were on the back foot for the majority of the game and spent much of the first half penned in their own half creating few chances on the Lansdown goal. edit f
The final score of 3-1 could have been worse for Ross if it wasn't for a magnificent diving goal line clearance from Matthew Saunders who showed great determination to get back after the Lansdownstriker had rounded the Ross keeper and looked odds on to score.
The South Herefordshire Motorcaravans Man of the Match was awarded to Andrew Ridgway for his monumental goalkeeping performance.
