POLICE officers in Ross-on-Wye have confirmed that the search for missing man Adam Selway has ended with a body being found.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said in a statement that the man's family have been informed, and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Adam, who was 31 years old, had been missing from the town since around 4am on Monday, July21.
His concerned family and friends became increasingly concerned for his welfare and put out an appeal on Facebook, which was later further publicised by West Mercia Police and Gloucestershire Constabulary.
At one point it was believed that Adam could have been in the Coleford area of the Forest of Dean, after a man matching his description was sighted on New Road in Coalway during the early hours of Thursday, July 24.
The police appeal said that Adam, 5ft 8in, of a medium build, was described as wearing dark trousers, possibly tracksuit bottoms, with a blue stripe on them, along with white trainers and a dark top / jacket.
The spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed: "Sadly, a body has been found in the search for a 31-year-old man who was reported missing from Ross-on-Wye.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the man’s family have been informed.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious."
The coroner has been informed.
Numerous tributes to Adam have been posted on various social media channels since West Mercia Police confirmed that a body had been found on Monday morning, July 28.
