Tales of good neighbours abound during bad weather but two young farmers went out of their way not once but twice to help the people around them.
The Simpson brothers Jake, aged 29, and Rupert, aged 27, who work on the family farm, Chicory Crop Farm, in the centre of Upton Bishop, used a snow plough attached to a tractor to clear roads in front of several villagers' homes.
Mr Bailey, who lives in the rural village of Upton Bishop, telephoned The Ross Gazette because he was so grateful at the young men's actions.
He said:?"There are six bungalows here, up a slope, and although we might have been able to get out we could not have been able to get back up again. Clearing the snow has made a big difference to the whole village."
Jake told The Ross Gazette:?"The farm is in the centre of the village and we are fortunate to have the equipment to be able to help, it was just something we could do to help the community we live in."
Jake added that the the council contracted snow plough drivers also did a fantastic job clearing the snow.
