Former Ross Gazette reporter, Marsha O’Mahony, will be giving an illustrated talk, ‘River Voices - Stories from the Wye’ on November 9th at 7.30pm at Goodrich Village Hall.

The talk is the culmination of a year-long oral history project by Marsha, who, in the summer of 2017, travelled up and down the length of the Wye recording the stories of people who have lived, worked, and played in, on and beside the beautiful River Wye.

It was well worth the effort as she has gathered a stunning collection of memories, photographs and artefacts, from ferrywomen, boatmen, boat-builders, swimmers, rowers, anglers, bailiffs, poachers, and more. There is a book to accompany the talk.

Marsha said:?“There is a whole wonderful, but forgotten story to tell about the long history of the Wye and the people who lived and worked on it.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
