Fleur Hawthorne, a mother of three from Ruardean, who works at Brockhampton Residential Home, plans to swim the Channel this September to raise money for It’s in the Bag cancer charity and the Great Western Air Ambulance.

On Saturday, September 2nd Brockhampton Court held a fete to raise funds for Fleur’s Big Swim and also for the Salvation Army Hereford.

Hundreds of visitors enjoyed traditional stalls, face painting, a dog show and locally sourced food and drink.

The amount raised on the day was £912 which will be split between the two charities, they will receive £456 each.

Fleur told the Ross Gazette: “Brockhampton Court have been so amazing and supportive. I would like to say a massive thank you to them.”

Fleur is due to start the swim later this month.
