The deputy Mayor of Ross has spoken out against what he calls "bullying tactics" from Leisure centre managers. Halo, which he says "will deprive many parents of freedom of choice". Councillor John Edwards, who is also the chairman of the Ross Sports and Leisure Federation, detailed his concerns in a strong letter to The Ross Gazette(See letters section). At a recent meeting with Halo he was horrified to discover that they aimed to "wipe out" competition from the Ross Swimming Club. He said; " I was amazed to find that Halo openly admitted that the reason for the ban was that it simply wanted to wipe out competition from the swimming club so that it would become the only suppliers of swimming lessons at the pool.
