A ROSS-on-Wye canoe hire company is seeing high demand with the easing of lockdown restrictions, writes Lucy Rabone.

I contacted brothers Mark and Richard Simons, who own and run Ross-on-Wye Canoe Hire, which has been in the family since 2008:

“We reopened on April 1, and we have seen a high demand for our service on the Easter Bank Holiday. However, the rest of April is looking quiet for us.

“We have been rescheduling a lot of bookings rolling over from last season and new bookings are being made on a daily basis, so we expect it to be a busy season as restrictions are gradually lifted over the coming months.

“From May it’s starting to get very busy and we recommend all to book early to avoid disappointment.

“It isn’t just tourists who like canoeing with us - we get loads of locals canoeing with us year in year out for various reasons!

“Initial feedback has been great with a few great reviews already.

“A couple of our very popular multi day trips have/are being reinstated online as accommodation restrictions are lifted.”
