Local Ross garage GB Motorservices have expanded their premises with a greater focus on electric vehicles.

Owners Nigel Baldwin and Phil Goulding recently took the plunge to expand their business and double their capacity by operating out of two units, Unit D and F on Ashburton Industrial Estate.

With a comfortable new reception and waiting area, customers are welcomed by a number of new staff now employed to deal with the extra workload already beginning to appear. It has been a stressful time according to Nigel and Phil, but they felt the time was right and the demand they are experiencing seems to be proving their decision and investment to be the right thing to do.

Having employed more staff to cope with the demand, as well as still servicing and repairing all existing customers vehicles with new customers appearing regularly, they have also taken the step to move with the times and are actively promoting the fact that they are now fully equipped and compliant to work on electric and hybrid vehicles.

Nigel, having taken the step to move into this exciting and new area of the market has already completed extensive training and is proud that he is qualified to the institute of motor industries Level Four in the repair and maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles, the highest current standard across the motor industry currently available.

He said: “Whilst electric and hybrid vehicle repairs are at present only a small percentage of our business, without the correct knowledge and skills it will be very difficult to move forward.

“It was a necessary step, and shows we are serious and dedicated to this exciting new era in the motor industry.”
