The Ross-on-Wye Tourism Association (RTA) was set up two years ago by volunteers and is now a members of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association. Their aims are to help provide visitors and local people with information about what’s happening in Ross.

The group grew out of local residents’ wishes to have an organisation to promote Ross, and the surrounding area after the Ross-on-Wye Tourist Information Centre closed, and the Market House Visitor Centre became the home for Made in Ross.

Over the past two years the group has set up two websites, a Facebook page and produced a map with a town trail. They have also set up five tourist information sites to promote the attractions of the market town and help visitors who might be looking for somewhere to stay.

They work with others to make visitors feel welcome and want to stay and enjoy the wonderful town. Recently they have been promoting Ross as dog friendly and they work with regional promoters of Herefordshire.

The Association is holding its AGM on November 9th at the Royal Hotel and would welcome anyone interested in promoting Ross.

Chairman, Caroline Utting told the Ross Gazette:?“We have done everything we can to promote Ross but it would be great to have some fresh input. Ross has lots to offer and the Association helps to promote various town events and also works with the Town Council.

The small committee, which has around eight members, would welcome a few new members. They would particularly like an accommodation provider to join the committee. They meet around four to five times a year, their next meeting is their AGM on November 9th.
