The members of Ross-on-Wye Parent Carers Group all have a disabled son or daughter. Like other parents they would love their children to be involved in lots of activities in the local community. However, they have found that it is not possible, sometimes becasue of their own worries about their children, or because clubs and groups are not sure if they could offer safe, enjoyable experiences.

The Ross-on-Wye Parent Carers Group is working with Angela Martin of Marches Family Network and Philip Douch of Active Impact to help local organisations understand what their young people need.

They recognise that many organisations are not used to involving disabled people and may understandably be nervous about doing so. They have organised a special meeting and they are inviting anyone who helps run an activity for youngsters to meet them. They want you to talk about what you already do and what else you could consider doing, to make it easier for you and for disabled young people to have a positive experience.

They will be at The School Hall, John Kyrle High School in Ross on Wednesday, November 8th, from 7.30pm - 9.00pm

If you are interested in finding out more phone Philip, at Active Impact on 01453 298337 or email [email protected] and you will be sent full details.

They are keen to welcome as many representatives as possible.
