When angling coach and keen fisherman Jeff Green saw a text message in the Angling Mail from a youngster whose tackle had been stolen he wanted to help.
The message, which was in the section called Your Texts said:?"I just wanted to say thanks to the people who stole all my kit. I am only 13, I hope they feel ashamed. Bertie from Ross-on-Wye."
There was no further details or a number so even though Jeff contacted the editor of the Angling Times he has no way of contacting Bertie. As an angling coach who teaches a lot of youngsters he has lots of spare tackle which he would like to give to Bertie to ensure he can carry on with his hobby. Jeff told The Ross Gazette:?"The new season starts next week, I am buzzing about it so if this youngster is a keen fisherman he probably feels gutted to have lost his kit."
Jeff hopes that someone reading the Ross Gazette will know Bertie. If anyone does know who Bertie is could they ask him to get his parents to contact the Ross Gazette and we will pass on the contact details for Jeff and perhaps this story will have a happy ending.
