Gazette reader Mark Frost sent in this poem:

Can you feel the world's heart beating?

Can you see the clouds are crying?

Is the sunshine not so bright?

Does the moon seem not so light?

Do you hear the earth complaining,

about what we do in this world?

Does nature have to worry,

at what we're doing in our lives?

The birds may keep returning,

and oceans keep evolving,

But what if one day we wake,

and see changes taking place,

What do we say at this time?

Should we think and change our ways

or ignore the signs shown to us?

When will it be too late?

Who should now take note

and change the error of their ways?

The birds and bees, do no harm,

The flowers and trees, help us stay calm,

So who possesses these destructive powers,

and the will to eradicate?
