MADAM, A group of experienced canoeists from Hinkley Canoeing Club tackled the swollen and fast running River Wye at the weekend. "We are travelling at four metres in 25 seconds," said one of the canoeists. This is a dangerous sport in these river conditions, which should not be attempted by amateurs.

The canoeists are heading to Monmouth from Ross on Wye. They are photographed heading under Wilton Bridge, heading down stream on a fast current. Do not try this unless you are qualified to do so!
