Members of the Help in Ross Facebook group are spreading some happiness in the town this Christmas.

The group, who were previously known as ‘Helping Others Together in Ross-on-Wye and Close By,’ have been collecting Advent calendars and selection boxes to give to Ross Food Larder, Age Concern and SHYPP.

Daniel Lister, who is a member of the group, and also a Ross Town Councillor, reached out to other Ross residents to join the group in their endeavors to help others this Christmas. He asked people to donate an Advent Calendar or a selection box to Globetrotter Coffee House on Broad Street.

He told the Gazette that the collection has now ended, to ensure that the group can get the donations out in time for Christmas.

Daniel said that they received 60 donations. He said: “It’s a great start for just the start of something great.”

He added that the group are now collecting small gifts for the West Mercia Women’s Refuge, and the drop off point is the Hope and Anchor. The group are hoping to receive toiletries, baby things, and other items.
