Donations have been arriving at the Ross Gazette office for our Charity of the Year, New Start Cat Rescue. Every year the Ross Gazette chooses a charity to support and for 2019 we decided to help an animal rescue charity. New Start Pet Rescue helps unwanted cats and kittens of any age, and where they can, find suitable homes for any that come into their care.
The charity was started by a group of like-minded people who believe that every cat and kitten deserves a loving home. Most of their volunteers have full time jobs, and none of them are paid to help out with the charity. Although based in Huntley, they cover a wide area and several foster carers are based in Ross-on-Wye.
New Start Cat Rescue relies on donations, whether financial or items such as blankets, towels, wet or dry cat food. The Ross Gazette is a drop off point for any donations people would like to make.
Ross Gazette General Manager, Charlotte Reynolds, said: “I am thrilled that so many people have already remembered to make donations for New Start and as a cat lover myself I know the wonderful work they do rehoming cats. My own mother has adopted a cat from there.”
New Start Cat Rescue is looking for a home for Sam. He is four years old and ready for a new start. He is fully vaccinated and up to date with flea and worm treatments, and is neutered. He is fine with other cats but the charity don’t think it would be a good idea for him to go to a home with young children and dogs.
Please Ring New start and leave a message to register your interest along with Sam’s name on 07598 752992.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
