The devoted owner of two rescue cats was devastated to discover that one of them had been shot by an air gun recently.

Mrs Elva Stafford who lives in Gorsley has rescued many Siamese cats over the years and currently has two tabby blue points.

One morning in June Mrs Stafford let Tao out into the garden at about 9am. At about 9.15 she saw him come back and thought he had fallen and possibly dislocated his shoulder as he was having problems walking.

She took him to her local veterinary practice in Newent where they discovered that Tao had been shot.
